Kalbarri is located 580 km north of Perth , in the Mid-west region of Western Australia . It's the base town of the
well-known Kalbarri
National Park . The major
geographical features and highlights in the park and the town of Kalbarri include:
(1) Coastal cliffs --
Spectacular coastal cliffs are located on
the coast near the mouth of the Murchison River and south of the town of Kalbarri .
(2) Murchison River
Gorge --
The Murchison River Gorge runs for nearly
80 km on the lower reaches of Murchison River .
Kalbarri National
Park preserves the inland desert regions of red and white
striped sandstone east of the town of Kalbarri ,
particularly the lower reaches of the Murchison River
and its gorge
(3) Murchison River
Cruise --
Sailing from Kalbarri Jetty, Murchison
River Cruise runs through the rugged wilderness at the mouth of the river by
Meanarra Hill.
(4) Pelican Feeding and Wildflowers --
Pelican Feeding is another tourist
attraction taking place at the Town
Beach daily in the
morning. Kalbarri is also famous for its wildflowers, most of which bloom from
late July through spring and into early summer.

Extending 13 km to the south of town, Kalbarri National Park
boasts some of WA’s most spectacular coastline of limestone and sandstone
cliffs over 100 m high. Secluded
beaches, surf breaks and whale watching spots spread along the coast.

Bridge and Island
Rock
A 1.7 km return easy stroll boardwalk and lookouts along
the cliff edge for viewing the rock formations in the cliffs at the southern
edge of Kalbarri National Park .
(2) Eagle Gorge
Enjoy the panorama from the lookout or
wander down into the depths of the gorge, where you’ll discover a secluded
beach. Watch as eagles soar in the skies above and searching for prey.
(3) Pot Alley
The view south from the car park captures
the rugged beauty of Kalbarri
National Park ’s
remarkable coastline. Follow the rocky path to the bottom and explore a hidden
beach.
(4) Mushroom Rock Walk Trail
Marvel at the varied geological formations
that are ablaze with colour at sunset. Allow an hour to explore the marked
trail that connects Rainbow
Valley and Mushroom Rock.
(5) Red Bluff
